Partnered with public officials, landowners and developers to establish critical riverfront forests and prairie lands which filter runoff, provide vital shade and wildlife habitat, and help stabilize riverbanks
Created and restored more than 100 beautiful nature preserves through purchase and charitable gifts, and planted over 50,000 trees and 200 acres of native prairies.
Led annual river-clean up projects for over 50 years, involving thousands of local citizens and area youth groups as volunteers.
Acquired and demolished more than 50 eyesores (run-down structures, dumping grounds, etc.) along the Little Miami, allowing each parcel of land to return to its natural beauty.
Educated thousands of kids about river ecosystems, fishing, local wildlife and conservation through our nature programs and fishing clinics.
Installed nine high tech water quality testing stations to monitor the river’s health every 15 minutes around the clock.
